Kettering Town’s trip to fellow Calor League Division One Central play-off contenders Northwood on Saturday is already in doubt.

The Middlesex club sent out a message through their Twitter account on Wednesday night saying it was “not looking good” at Northwood Park following more heavy rainfall yesterday.

Further rain is expected tomorrow and Northwood have already called off their under-18s’ home match with Woking, which was due to be played tonight.

The tweet they sent out said: “Not looking good for Saturday’s home game against @KTFCOfficial. Pitch is already very wet and plenty more rain apparently on the way!!”

Northwood did play on Tuesday night as their 2-0 home defeat against Slough Town was the only one of six scheduled fixtures in the division to go ahead.

Should the game be off, it will mean a second successive blank weekend for the Poppies after their home clash with Ashford Town (Middx) was postponed last weekend.

Kettering are due to be back at Latimer Park on Tuesday night when St Ives Town are the visitors.
