Kettering Town have completed the signing of defender Richard Bryan as the countdown to the new season continues.

Poppies boss Marcus Law is continuing the job of bulking his squad up ahead of this weekend’s Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division opener at last season’s runners-up Poole Town.

Bryan, who is predominantly a full-back but can also play at the heart of the defence, has featured for the Poppies during pre-season and played in their final friendly as they drew 0-0 at Barwell on Tuesday night.

The 21-year-old started his career at Aston Villa before being released in 2012 and went on to have a spell at Hinckley United and in Leeds United’s under-21 squad.
