Kettering Town’s Boxing Day clash with St Ives Town in the Calor League Division One Central has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Work was carried out on the Latimer Park surface early this morning but an inspection at 11.30am resulted in the referee calling the game off.
It mean’s Poppies boss Dean Thomas will have to wait until Saturday to rack up his 1,000 game as a manager when he takes his team to fellow high-fliers Slough Town.
A number of matches have also fallen foul of the weather in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League with Desborough Town’s Premier Division derby at Harborough Town being off as well as Stewarts & Lloyds’ trip to Huntingdon Town.
In Division One, the local derby between Rothwell Corinthians and Raunds Town was also postponed.
