Jake Newman chose the perfect moment to score his first league goal for Kettering Town as they made it eight matches unbeaten with a 2-1 success over Uxbridge at Latimer Park.
After a tight first half which saw Louis Hamilton hit the bar, the Poppies took the lead through new signing Dubi Ogbonna, who joined the club pm Friday.
But they were pegged back by Chris Patterson’s goal, only for Newman to fire a late winner after he had come off the substitutes’ bench.
Uxbridge’s misery was completed when Jake Todd was dismissed in stoppage-time for an off-the-ball incident.
The Poppies will be looking to maintain their good form when they head to Marlow in the Calor League Divison One Central on Tuesday night.
