Ben Ford has snubbed the opportunity to play for Kettering Town next season.
Instead, the midfielder looks set to try to earn himself a deal with Conference side Hyde after it was previously announced he would be joining the Poppies where he spent the second half of last season on loan.
Ford, having come through the ranks at Kettering, was with Nuneaton Town but was released by them at the end of last season.
And the midfielder took to twitter over the weekend to announce his latest move.
Ford wrote: “Monday it all begins! I’m off to Manchester to start my pre-season with Hyde.
“I want to say good luck to Kettering for the season and thank you for the offer but I want to play at the highest level I can!”
Poppies boss Dean Thomas has since confirmed that Ford contacted him to let him know of the latest development.
