Kettering Town will renew an old rivalry in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Having cruised past Market Drayton Town in the first qualifying round on Saturday, the Poppies were handed a home clash against Vanarama National League North bottom markers AFC Telford United in today’s (Monday) draw.
The clash at Latimer Park will see Kettering take on a side they have had numerous battles with over the years, not least when they beat Telford to the Conference North title back in 2008.
Corby Town, meanwhile, will also have home advantage as they will take on either Shepshed Dynamo or Rushall Olympic at Steel Park.
Rushall and Shepshed drew 0-0 at the weekend with the winners of tomorrow night’s replay earning the right to face the Steelmen in the next round.
AFC Rushden & Diamonds will be on the road again in the FA Cup but they will also have to wait to find out their opponents.
Having won 2-1 at Bedfont & Feltham on Saturday, Andy Peaks’ team will travel to either UCL Premier Division outfit Deeping Rangers or Evo-Stik Northern League Division One South side Leek Town in the next stage after they drew 2-2 at the weekend.
The second qualifying round ties will take place on Saturday, September 26.
