AFC Rushden & Diamonds suffered only their third defeat of the season as they were beaten 2-0 by fellow Evo-Stik Southern League Division One Central title chasers Chalfont St Peter.

Chalfont took the lead after 26 minutes when Anthony Mendy continued his fine form and found the back of the net.

Diamonds were well in the game and came closest to grabbing an equaliser through chances for Claudiu Hoban and Tommy Berwick.

However, Chalfont closed the game out in 86th minute when Adam Louth scored the second.

Earlier in the day Kettering Town had their second consecutive home game postponed when their Southern League Premier Division match with Frome Town was called off.

Corby Town were without a fixture in the National League North division.
