Kettering Town have re-signed striker Lewis Wilson on loan from Northampton Town.
The frontman becomes new Poppies boss Thomas Baillie’s first signing after he took over from previous manager Alan Doyle.
Wilson enjoyed a superb loan spell with Kettering at the end of last year when he scored seven goals in eight matches to help the club on a good run of form in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division during December.
The Poppies’ form has dipped since Wilson was recalled after they beat Bedford Town 3-0 at Steel Park on January 2.
But now he is back and, subject to clearance from the Football Association, he could feature in tomorrow’s (Saturday) trip to Bashley. If not, he will return in Wednesday night’s home clash with St Neots Town.
During his first stint, Wilson became the first Poppies player since Billy Kellock to score a hat-trick on Boxing Day as his treble helped secure a 4-3 success.
His current spell will keep him at Kettering until March 31.
