Warren Byerley’s proposed move to Kettering Town is not yet a done deal.
Reports in Weymouth this evening have claimed the Terras’ star striker has told the club he is leaving to join the Poppies.
Byerley has been linked with a move to Nene Park with acting chairman George Rolls admitting last week that discussions had taken place.
Further reports in the south-west have suggested the move would be worth £600 a week to the player.
But Rolls has this evening denied that a deal has not yet been done.
Byerley, who is 27, has scored 50 goals for Weymouth in the past two campaigns in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division, which is where Kettering kick off next season having entered a Company Voluntary Arrangement.
The Poppies this week appointed John Beck as their new manager.
