Burton Park Wanderers dumped Whitworth out of the NFA Junior Cup last weekend and their manager Kevin Fox wants the result to kickstart their campaign.
The Latimer Park outfit have made a poor start to their United Counties League Division One campaign and are currently residing in the lower reaches of the table.
But their 3-0 victory in the cup, which came after an 8-0 hammering by Sileby Rangers, has given Fox hope ahead of their clash with Northampton Spencer.
He said: “After the 8-0 in the week I wanted some sort of reaction and that is what I got.
“At this moment in time we haven’t been consistent enough and we perhaps need to get a couple of draws or a few points to get us going.”
Elsewhere in the second tier, Raunds will be looking for their fourth win in five as they make the journey to Wootton Blue Cross.
Whitworth entertain Eynesbury, the side who ended AFC Rushden & Diamonds’ unbeaten record last weekend, at London Road and Rothwell Corinthians are on the road at Olney.
In the top flight, Desborough, who have amassed 24 points so far - a total they didn’t reach until the end of March last season - host Blackstones in a game manager Steve Walker expects to win,
He said: “In games like this one we don’t want to not back it up after such a good win at a place like Shepshed (3-2 on Tuesday).
“We’re in a good position to get another three points on Saturday.”
S&L Corby make the trip to Cogenhoe and Irchester, who have lost their last nine league outings, go to Long Buckby.
In the first round of the Knockout Cup, the landlord hosts the tenant as Wellingborough Town come up against AFC Rushden & Diamonds at the Dog & Duck.
Also in action in the cup are Thrapston, who are at home to Harrowby, and Rushden & Higham who entertain Bourne.
