Irchester United were the heroes of the second qualifying round of the FA Vase as they beat Crawley Green 3-1 at Alfred Street to move into the proper stages of the competition.

Jack Dyson gave them a first-half lead before the visitors equalised two minutes into the second period through Aaron Wilson.

But Dyson stole the show in the latter stages as he struck twice more to complete his hat-trick and send the Romans through.

Wellingborough Town conceded late in normal and extra-time as they went down 3-2 at Harefield United.

The hosts led at the break thanks to Danny Bendell’s goal but the Doughboys looked to be heading through after Michael Cirelli and Mark Pryor struck to give them a 2-1 advantage.

But Ben Gill equalised with two minutes of normal time remaining and then hit the winner in the last of the extra 30 minutes.

Desborough Town suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Holmer Green, who went into a 2-0 lead through Mike Benning and Gary Lines. Aidan Bradshaw grabbed a late goal for Ar Tarn but it wasn’t enough.

Burton Park Wanderers gave a good account of themselves as they were beaten 2-0 at higher-ranked Kings Langley.

It took until the 58th minute for Callum Adebiyi to break the deadlock for the hosts and their win was confirmed by Alex Campana’s goal with 10 minutes to go.

Rothwell Corinthians went down 1-0 at home to Bedfont Sports as both sides had a men sent off in the first half.

A Jamie Reed penalty on 80 minutes proved to be the difference between the two sides as the UCL Division One outfit were knocked out.
