The local interest in the FA Cup has, for the time being, been ended after Wellingborough Town and Thrapston Town were both beaten in the preliminary round.
All the goals came in the first half at the Dog & Duck as the Doughboys were beaten 3-1 by King’s Lynn.
Former Wellingborough man Jason Turner gave the visitors the lead from the penalty spot before Stephen Spriggs and Danny Beaumont made it 3-0 after 34 minutes.
Craig Lawman replied before half-time for the depleted hosts, who didn’t disgrace themselves.
Thrapston, who beat Cogenhoe United in the extra preliminary round, went down 3-1 at Peterborough Northern Star.
Danny Escorsio and Dan Bucciero put the hosts 2-0 up before Jamie Gilsenan’s penalty gave Thrapston hope.
But Lewis Stone ended their chances just past the hour mark.

Morris had opened the scoring after 49 minutes and Sam Johnson made it 2-0 just past the hour mark.
But Dean Bland’s brace brought Buckingham level and the game looked to be heading for a draw until Morris struck with just a minute remaining.
Alfie Taylor was the hero for AFC Rushden & Diamonds as his late goal rescued a point at Wootton Blue Cross.
Scott Sinclair’s goal looked to be sending the hosts to victory but Taylor struck with five minutes to go.
