Wellingborough Town and Kettering Town go head-to-head in the quarter-finals of the NFA Hillier Senior Cup at the Dog & Duck tonight (7.45pm).

Alan Doyle is set to field a strong Poppies side for the clash following their 3-0 defeat at Arlesey Town in the Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division at the weekend.

Phil Mason’s Doughboys were without a game in the ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division at the weekend and will be looking to put their league struggles aside for the evening.

The match was switched from a Kettering home fixture to Wellingborough due to the Poppies’ recent financial troubles.

In the UCL Premier Division this evening, rock-bottom Irchester United travel to Yaxley as they look to bounce back from a 5-2 defeat at Harborough Town on Saturday.

Stewarts & Lloyds picked up a good 1-1 draw with Quorn at the weekend and they are also back in action tonight when they travel to Harborough.

Division One side Whitworth – 3-1 winners at Bourne on Saturday – have a home clash against Cranfield United in the first round of the Hinchingbrooke Cup.

AFC Rushden & Diamonds, meanwhile, have been handed a long trek in the third round of the FA Carlsberg Vase.

The UCL Division One outfit booked their place in the next stage thanks to a 5-3 victory over Basford United at the Dog & Duck at the weekend.

They will now travel to Northumberland to take on Ashington, who are currently in sixth place in Division One of the Northern League. The tie will be played on Saturday, December 8.
