AFC Rushden & Diamonds will travel to Dover Athletic in the third qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Mark Starmer’s ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division side produced one of the performances of the day at the weekend as Alfie Taylor’s late goal sealed a shock 3-2 success over Calor League Premier Division outfit Cambridge City in the second qualifying round.

But they have been handed a tough draw at Dover, who currently sit in mid-table in the Skrill South and claimed a 3-2 success at Guernsey in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Corby Town, meanwhile, will take on Evo-Stik Northern League Premier Division side Trafford at Steel Park in the third qualifying round but only if they are successful in their replay with Mickleover Sports on Wednesday night.

The Steelmen were 2-0 and 3-1 up during their clash at Mickleover at the weekend but the hosts fought back to secure a 3-3 draw.

The third qualifying round matches will be played on Saturday, October 12.
