The NFA Hillier Senior Cup gets under way tonight with three first-round ties.

Crisis club Kettering Town are in action at Nene Park as they take on ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League Premier Division outfit Peterborough Northern Star.

The Poppies, who currently have a depleted squad and a caretaker-manager in the form of Alan Doyle, suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Concord Rangers in the FA Trophy at the weekend while Northern Star were beaten 2-1 at home by Long Buckby.

Elsewhere, the four local UCL Premier Division sides will clash in the other two ties tonight.

Stewarts & Lloyds enjoyed a terrific 3-2 home win over Newport Pagnell on Saturday and they will be looking for more joy at Occupation Road when they take on Desborough Town, who suffered a surprise 2-1 home defeat to Yaxley at the weekend.

The other game of the night is at Alfred Street as Colin Ridgway’s Irchester United host Wellingborough Town, now under the charge of Phil Mason.

The Doughboys picked up a good point at the weekend as they drew 1-1 at Deeping while Irchester went down 5-1 at high-flying Holbeach United.
