Top-flight relegation ruled out

The Hevey Building Supplies NCL strategy committee have confirmed that there will be no relegation from the Premier Division this season.

The NCCC Academy’s withdrawal from the league re-opened the debate concerning promotion and relagtion from the top flight but, as was the case when Bedford withdrew a few years ago, no side will drop out of the elite division.

In addition to the Academy, four other sides are dropping out of the league with two applying to join the competition.

For the 2013 season, there will be 12 teams from the Premier Division down to Division Five, 10 in six through to 13 and the remaining teams making up Division Fourteen.

The promotion and relagation for this year will be as folows:

1.0, no relegation from Premier Division and one promoted from Division One.

1.1, one team relegated from Division One and two promoted from Division Two.

1.2, no team relegated from Division Two and two promoted from Division Three.

1.3, no team relegated from Division Three and two promoted from Division Four.

1.4, no team relegated from Division Four and two promoted from Division Five.

1.5, one team relegated from Division Five and three promoted from Division Six.

1.6, one team relegated from Division Six and three promoted from Division Seven.

1.7, one team relegated from Division Seven and three promoted from Division Eight.

1.8, one relegated from from Division Eight and three promoted from Division Nine.

1.9, one team relegated from Division 9 and three promoted from Division 10.

1.10, no team relegated from Division 10 and three promoted from Division 11.

1.11, no team relegated from Division 11 and three promoted from Division 12.

1.12, no team relegated from Division 12 and three promoted from Division 13 ( including fourth team in Division 13 because of Uppingham’s resignation).

1.13, no team relegated from Division 13 and five promoted from Division 14.

1.14, Division 14 to comprise nine teams, not including any new teams.
