St Crispin & Ryelands have been kicked out of the Hevey NCL Twenty Cup after fielding an ineligible player.

The Division Three side, who caused an upset by defeating Wellingborough Town in the last round, were due to face top-flight outfit Horton House at Denton Road on Tuesday in the quarter-finals.

Instead, it will be Wellingborough who play for the right to appear at the County Ground on finals day later this month.

The player in question was Tim Burt who was registered before St Crispin’s first game against Old Grammarians but a month after the cut off date for competition registrations.
