Oundle will attempt to put a spanner in the Peterborough Town works when they make the trip to Bretton Gate in the NCL Premier Division this weekend.

The Milton Road outfit, who have made a solid start to life in the top flight, will be underdogs against a side who are just one point behind leaders Finedon Dolben and who secured a nine-wicket win when the sides met in June.

Last weekend, Lewis Bruce’s side underlined their strength in depth as they dug themselves out of a deep hole to get the better of Northampton Saints while Oundle saw their clash with Burton Latimer abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Finedon face Stony Stratford as they look to preserve their slender lead and third entertain fourth at Billing Road where the Old Northamptonians host local rivals Northampton Saints.

At the foot of the table, time is running out for Wellingborough as they bid to avoid relegation and they make the trip to Rushton.

The weekend’s other ties see Brixworth host Horton House and Wollaston travel to Burton Latimer.

In Division One, Rushden will clinch promotion if they can take at least 18 points from their home encounter with Wellingborough Indians.
