Kleinveldt gets County’s player-of-the-year award

Rory Kleinveldt was tonight named Northamptonshire’s player of the year at their end-of-season awards dinner.

The South African, who also collected the prize for being the best LV= County Championship performer, took 79 wickets and chipped in with 560 runs across all formats of the game.

Ben Duckett was also on his feet twice as he picked up the Frank Rudd Shield for young player of the year and also the Media’s nomination as the County’s outstanding performer in 2015.

David Willey and Josh Cobb collected the prizes for the Twenty20 and Royal London Cup competitions respectively.

Saif Zaib was named winner of the Lynn Wilson Academy player award while physio Barry Goudriaan and strength and conditioning coach David Sutton were jointly given the Frank & Doris Spokes Clubman of the year .

Patricia Hankins was the Steel-ettos player of the year with Stephen Peters given the Community Award.
