New Zealand will face some of the best cricketers in Northamptonshire when they play two matches at Finedon this month.
The Avenue Road club have pulled off something of a coup by being asked to host the tourists for their practise sessions as well as two games of cricket.
Some of the Black Cap players not involved in the Test series with England are in need of acclimatisation ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy in June – and the Dolben were understandably more than willing to accommodate them.
They will play two matches, the first against an Invitation XI on Friday, May 24 and the other against a Finedon side on the following Monday.
The select team will consist of David Clarke (Peterborough), Richard Kaufman (Old Northamptonians), Rob White (Market Harborough), Juanre van Wyk (Rushden), Jack Johnson (Northampton Saints), Callum Berrill (Brixworth), Paul McMahon (Peterborough), Petrus Jeftha (Oundle), Simon Branston (Rushden), Mark Wolstenholme (Northampton Saints) and Primesh Patel (Finedon Dolben).
The Finedon team that will play on Bank Holiday Monday will comprise of their first XI but could also include former Sussex and Kenya all-rounder Ragheb Aga.
