Ben Duckett continued his good run of form as England U19s won their opening World Cup game in some style.

The Northamptonshire batsman, who had prospered in the side’s warm-up outings, made 83 in the Group D clash with UAE who were thrashed by 213 runs in Abu Dhabi.

Ed Barnard top-socred for England with 93 as they racked up an imposing 315-8 from their 50 overs.

The UAE never threatened their target in the reply as they were dismissed for just 102 in 33 overs.

Will Rhodes was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-14.

Next up for England is a clash against Sri Lanka on Sunday.
