Weldon are the early pacesetters in Division Five as they claimed their second win of the season.

And they leapfrogged Overstone Park 2nd at the top as they secured maximum points with an 82-run win over Rothwell 2nd.

Batting first, Weldon were indebted to Connor McAlinden whose 51 formed the backbone of his side’s 155-9 in their 50 overs.

Daniel Craig kept the scoring in check as he picked up 5-60 for the visitors.

Luke Cummins then took over with 5-16 as Rothwell were routed for a paltry 73 in 34.1 overs.

McAlinden and Matthew Hay weighed in with two wickets apiece with only Richard Tate and Roger Austin getting into double figures for the hosts. Weldon 30pts, Rothwell 2nd 4.
