It doesn’t get any easier for Burton Latimer in the Hevey Building Supplies NCL Premier Division.
A week after they were hammered by Peterborough to the tune of 166 runs, a result that moved the Bretton Gate outfit to the top of the standings, Burton come up against second-place Northampton Saints at Hall Field on Saturday.
The Saints, who have had their previous two outings abandoned, are just 10 points adrift of Peterborough while Burton are 15 clear of bottom club Horton House.
Peterborough travel to Wollaston, who aren’t clear of danger, while Horton, who face Peterborough and the Saints over the next couple of weeks, entertain third-place Stony Stratford.
Finedon Dolben will be looking to give their fading title chances a boost when they visit Rushton and Wellingborough Town are at home to the Old Northamptonians.
The weekend’s other contest sees Brixworth face the NCCC Academy.
Oundle booked their place in the last four of the Hevey NCL Twenty Cup with a fine victory over local rivals Peterborough in midweek and they now turn their attention to the league with a visit from Irthlingborough in Division One.

It’s a replay of Tuesday’s cup quarter final at West Lodge Park where Desborough will be out for revenge against Rushden.
