The Northants 3000m Championships, which were held in conjunction with the final Corby AC open meeting, saw Corby AC’s Rebecca Hall lift the Senior Women’s title with an excellent front-running performance which saw her finish in 10.25.7.

In her wake, Ellie Welch, also from Corby, ran just outside her best with 10.43.2 to land the Under-17 title while taking the Junior title in 11.24.6 on her track debut was Rosanna Andrews of Northampton Road Runners.

Kettering Town Harrier Gemma Vaughan (12.01.1) was crowned the Under-15 champion ahead of Corby’s Chloe Iliff (12.15.7).

The men’s race was a much closer affair between the Rugby & Northampton AC pair of Junior Man Rory Grant and Stuart Nelson with the former proving the stronger in the closing stages to win in 9.08.2.

Nelson won the Senior title in 9.09.0 while his club colleague Vince Carroll (10.17.3) secured top honours in the Veteran section, finishing just ahead of Wellingborough & District AC’s Keith Molloy (10.19.0).

Kettering Harrier Liam Kirk easily took the Under-17 crown when he clocked 10.10.2 to finish ahead of Corby’s Scott McIntyre (10.52.4) and Wellingborough’s Edward Frain (11.00.7).
