Corby will play host to a major new art project bringing attention to the town’s urban woodlands.

The ambitious new project led by Corby organisation Deep Roots Tall Trees will be called Our Woods and include more than 40 different events which offer something for everyone.

Deep Roots Tall Trees began its life as a choir with the sole intention to write songs about Corby, for Corby.

The company’s creative director, Rosalind Stoddart, said: ”Following our concert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, we are now stretching ourselves with even greater creativity through this wonderful celebration of the woodlands of Corby and inviting the whole town to join us.”

The aim of the project is to celebrate urban spaces by educating the local community as well as highlighting the importance and beauty of these areas.

Choir performances, dancing and light shows will make up just a small portion of the activities and entertainment which will begin with a launch event at The Core, Corby Cube, at 5.30pm on Thursday, July 14.

The project will continue until May 2017 and more information on the festival and booking details can be found at www.thecorbycube.com, www.deeprootstalltrees.org or call The Cube on 01536 470470.
