Children at St Peter’s School, Kettering, perfomed a musical version of Treasure Island.

The cast of pupils aged between seven and 11 began work on the project in September, attending weekly after-school rehearsals and many Saturday rehearsals, ahead of the February performances.

Headteacher Maria Chapman said: “Treasure Island is a fantastic adventure story but it can be a complex book for children of this age to read.

“To perform it as a musical has been an effective way of introducing a great British classic piece of fiction to our children.”
