Young people from Corby and Kettering who are unemployed or not in education are to stage a performance after working with a performing arts group.

They have been taking part in the project with Urban Angels and are to stage Short Shift at the Church of the Epiphany, Elizabeth Street, Corby, on Thursday, August 23, and Friday, August 24.

The project has been run by The Core theatre, Corby, and the performance will combine cutting-edge contemporary arts and multi-media technologies.

Urban Angel is an East Midlands-based group which supports young people by offering training opportunities to develop their performance and media arts skills.

People taking part in the project will have the chance to gain a bronze arts award accreditation.

New members are welcome to join Urban Angel at any point and the sessions take place every Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 4pm until August 24. The sessions are free and more information is available by calling 07970 946977. Performances of Short Shift will take place at 2pm and 7pm on both days and tickets are £3. They can be booked on 01536 470470.
