Young Corby parents celebrated World Cultural Day by finding out more about family life, food and clothing in other countries.

The event on Tuesday (May 21) was held at Eden Park, in Elizabeth Street, Corby, a supported housing project for young parents from 16 to 25.

Sunita Prasad, who runs the company Little Inspirations, showed residents how to put on a saree and showed them clap dancing, or garba, and rass, a form of stick dancing.

Staff and residents also enjoyed a lunch menu made up of world foods.

Sunita said: “The event was a fantastic success with residents and staff all actively participating in the cultural enrichment. They all had lots of questions about the sarees, Indian culture, motherhood in our culture, Indian food and fashion.

“Everyone seemed to thoroughly engage and enjoy the session.”
