A theatre company is looking for young male performers in Corby who won’t flinch from tough challenges and taking risks.
Frantic Assembly wants to hear from 16 to 20-year-olds who would like to experience fast, physical theatre.
A free taster session is being held at The Core theatre, Corby, on Monday, September 30, followed by regional trials on Thursday, October 10, where selection for their 2013 Ignition Company will take place.
Ignition is a UK-wide project established by Frantic Assembly to give young men new ways to get involved in the arts, by devising and performing highly physical pieces.
Twelve young men will be chosen from trials across the UK to work as a professional theatre company in London, learning new skills, creating original work and performing to a live audience.
A spokesman for Frantic Assembly said: “It will be a unique opportunity to work with our artistic director and company members, with rehearsals and the final performance taking place at Stratford Circus in London.
“Travel costs and accommodation will be provided and participants will receive a bronze arts award.”
The taster session on Monday (September 30) will run from 7pm until 9pm, and will be led by Frantic Assembly’s artistic director Scott Graham, who is originally from Corby.
The trials on October 10 will run from 5pm until 9pm.
