Working together to bridge the gap

SPECIAL school pupils and Age UK clients bridged the generation gap when they worked together to pack newsletters.

Half a dozen pupils from Wren Spinney Community Special School, Kettering, worked with a similar number of older people from the Four Seasons Day Centre in School Lane to put the charity’s newsletters in envelopes and label them on Tuesday last week.

Headteacher Debbie Withers, who organised the partnership to give work experience to pupils after the success of its shop in Gold Street, said: “It more than met my expectations in terms of people of different ages just sitting together and enjoying doing the activity.”
