Anglian Water is holding a public exhibition in Kettering for people living in streets affected by its lead pipe replacement programme.
The £1.5 million scheme will replace lead water pipes serving 3,500 homes in 64 streets in and around Kingsley Avenue, St Peter’s Avenue, St Mary’s Road and London Road.
Work has now started, with the project expected to take until December 2014 to complete.
The first in a series of drop-in sessions is to be held for people living in and around Kingsley Avenue. It will be held at the Rockingham Road Baptist Church between 3.30pm and 6.30pm on Thursday, May 2.
Leaflets will be sent to people living in the affected streets inviting them along.
Toni Holtby, lead strategy manager for Anglian Water, said: “We are determined to make sure the project causes as little disruption as possible to the life of the town and its people.
“Part of that is keeping people informed and so I would encourage anyone living in the area to pop along and see us.”
