There will be a number of road closures in Oundle and Kettering for the Aviva Women’s Tour on Friday, June 19.
Northamptonshire is hosting stage three of the five-day cycling event, which starts at 10am in Oundle Market Place at finishes at about 1.30pm in Kettering town centre.
Between Oundle and Kettering there will be a rolling road closure managed by a team of police and cycle race motorcyclists travelling in advance of the riders to ensure the route is clear and safe.
Stage 3 will pass through Fotheringhay, King’s Cliffe, Gretton, Corby, Cottingham, Rothwell, Desborough, Kelmarsh, Naseby, Creaton, Spratton, Brixworth, Old and Mawsley.
It is anticipated to take up to 30 minutes for the race convoy to pass any given point along the route.
There will also be the following road closures:
West Street, New Street, St Osyths Lane and North Street (south of the junction with Blackpot Lane) in Oundle will be closed all day on Friday, June 19.
A one-way system running clockwise will be in place on East Road, South Road, Mill Road, Benefield Road, Milton Road and Blackpot Lane.
Gipsy Lane (south of Bowhill) and Northampton Road (east of Northfield Avenue) in Kettering will be closed between midday and 3pm, while Sheep Street will be closed from 4.45am to 6pm.
