Officers from East Northamptonshire Safer Community Team along with partner agencies are hosting women’s safety sessions in Rushden and Higham Ferrers in October, November and December.
Sgt Matt Manifold said: “We have decided to hold these sessions as a result of feedback from the local community and as part of Operation Challenge which is our dedicated campaign to reducing and preventing violence.
“The evenings will provide a relaxed, friendly and female-only environment with PCs Claire Beech and Kelly Gadsden and partner agencies including The Sunflower Centre, East Northants Council and Rushden and Higham Ferrers Town Council on hand to offer safety advice, support and guidance on a number of issues.
“Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available and there is no need to book in advance so just pop in and have a chat.”
The events will be held from 7pm on the following dates:
Monday, October 22: Splash Pool Meeting Room, Duck Street, Rushden
Tuesday, October 23: Working Men’s Club, Wharf Road, Higham Ferrers
Thursday, November 15: Splash Pool Meeting Room, Duck Street, Rushden
