A 56-year-old woman has died after a collision on the A605, near Oundle.
Jeka Howley, of The Dell, Peterborough, was driving northbound in a yellow Vauxhall Tigra, in front of a silver Peugeot 206, driven by a man, when the accident happened on Tuesday, November 5, at 10.15pm.
She died on Friday night at University Hospital in Coventry.
A black Ford Fiesta, driven by a 20-year-old man and travelling in the opposite direction, was also involved in the collision and police believe a fourth vehicle may have been involved, but failed to stop.
The man driving the Ford Fiesta was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with serious injuries but the Peugeot driver was not hurt.
Sgt Nick Gray, said: “We believe a series of cars and possibly a motorbike overtook Mrs Howley and the silver Peugeot in the direction of Peterborough, shortly before the collision.
“We would like to speak to those motorists as they may have valuable information that may be able to assist our investigation.”
Officers will be returning to the A605 tonight (Tuesday, November 12), a week after the collision, to stop motorists and ask if they were travelling on the same road on November 5.
Witnesses are asked to call the Drivewatch Hotline on 0800 174615.
