Winners at the Kettering Sports Awards were crowned at the awards ceremony last night (Thursday).

The event, held at Wicksteed Park, saw local people get the recognition they deserve for their hard work and success in sport in the borough.

The winners are as follows:

Volunteer of the Year 2015 - Matt Brown, Kettering Town Harriers

Long-time contribution to Sport - David Ingham, Kettering Town Cricket Club

Sport School of the Year 2015 - Hawthorn Community Primary School

Team of the Year – Kettering Town Harriers Under 20 Relay Squad

Community Club of the Year - Shotokan Kettering and Corby Karate Club

Coach of the Year - Sean Turner, Kettering Town Cricket Club

Get Active Award - Ruth Taylor

Young Sportswoman - Evie Giddens, New York Thunderbowl

Young Sportsman - Rory Tyrrell, Kettering Premier Judo Club

Local Sportsperson 2015 - Sophie How, British Eventing

Sports Personality of the Year - Sophie How, British Eventing

Kettering Council extended its congratulations to all of the winners.
