Plans have been submitted for a major national wine retailer to move into premises which have stood empty for more than six months.
Majestic Wine wants to move to the former home of Topps Tiles, on the corner of Northampton Road and Northfield Avenue. A spokesman for the company confirmed they wanted to open their store in Kettering at the end of March.
The Watford-based retailer, which was founded in 1980, has more than 200 outlets nationwide, including one in Northampton.
The plans, which were submitted to Kettering Borough Council near the end of last month, include proposals to resurface the car park and the addition of space for disabled parking.
The authority is due to make a decision on whether to approve the application by the middle of February.
Topps Tiles moved to its new premises in the Telford Way Industrial Estate in the middle of last year.
