Three lottery players from Wellingborough after celebrating after each winning £25,000.
The town’s NN8 1PP postcode was drawn as the winner of the People’s Postcode Lottery’s Saturday Street Prize on May 28, with three of the residents of Melton Road North delighted with their windfall.
Liz Kennelly, 65, said she couldn’t believe she had won and said: “I thought I’d maybe won a grand or two but when they came with a cheque for £25,000 I was overjoyed.
“I think we’ll be heading out tonight for a meal to celebrate and then after that who knows.
“I’ll probably give some of it to my son, keep some for a rainy day and of course, there’ll probably be a holiday on the cards.
“I’ve always wanted to go to Devon so now’s my chance.
“It’s so wonderful too that playing with People’s Postcode Lottery means raising money for so many charites - that was really one of the main reasons why I signed up.”
Michelle Parry, 39, said she already had big plans for the win, and added: “It just hasn’t sunk in yet.
“I thought anything over £1,000 would be a bonus so to get £25,000 was just unreal.
“I’ll be able to pay off a few bills, take my kids on holiday and so much more – it’s just amazing.”
And Michelle’s next door neighbour Heidi Barham, 42, was just as thrilled.
She said: “I have twins, Paige and Taylor, who are both eight-years-old so I’m sure when the news settles they’ll have some big plans on helping me spend the money.
“It’s so easy to sign up to play; I’d recommend it to anyone.
“You never know when your postcode might come up.”
Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £118.8 million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A charity near to this week’s winners includes the NBA Gateway Resource Centre in Northampton, which received more than £18,000 in 2015 for its Goals for Your Health and Fitness project.
