Filming for the movie which will feature the nation’s favourite dancing dog, Pudsey, is set to begin in a few weeks’ time.
Pudsey: The Movie is expected to be a big hit on our screens this Christmas, and owner Ashleigh Butler said she can’t wait to get started.
She said: “I’m really looking forward to beginning filming on Pudsey: The Movie. It’s such an exciting project with a really fun script.
“I believe Pudsey could be the new Lassie but with the added talent of being able to dance.”
Ashleigh and Pudsey shot to fame after the dancing dog act won Britain’s Got Talent in 2012. The Wellingborough girl and Pudsey were crowned champions of the talent show on May 12, 2012, and she has described the experiences she has had over the past year as ”out of this world.”
However, the 18-year-old can’t give too much away about the film, although she said she is excited about the prospect.
Vertigo Distribution will handle the theatrical release of the film and said it will be great family fun.
Rupert Preston of Vertigo Distribution said: “We’re delighted to be developing this idea with Syco and we can’t wait to bring Pudsey to the big screen, it will be great, feel-good, fun entertainment for all the family.”
Pudsey’s manager Jonathan Shalit, of Roar Global, added: “The British people love Pudsey. He has met the Queen and was invited to 10 Downing Street by the Prime Minister. This represents a hugely exciting next step.”
According to national reports, Pudsey will be given a voice for the upcoming movie, allegedly that of a well-known actor. However, details of the movie, a joint project between Vertigo Films and Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment, have been kept under wraps by all involved.
