One of the world’s best pyrotechnic display teams will dazzle thousands of people by lighting up the November sky for Kettering’s bonfire night extravaganza.

For the second year in a row, Wicksteed Park has enlisted Daventry-based MLE pyrotechnics to provide the display for their fireworks night, which is taking place on Saturday, November 3.

The pyro team recently came second in the World Firework Championships and is considered one of the best in the country.

Marie Phillips, Wicksteed Park’s marketing co-ordinator, said: “The annual firework display is enjoyed by thousands of families and this year looks like being no different.

“We will have one of the best firework display teams in the world and plenty more exciting things for people to see and do.”

Last year’s firework show was enjoyed by more than 10,000 people as fireworks costing £10,000 were let off.

Tickets are now on sale for this year’s event, and organisers say county residents should snap them up early to avoid disappointment.

Other highlights from the evening will include a funfair, stalls and a live performance from Wicksteed’s Got Talent winners, Short Notice, who scooped the top prize in this year’s contest held last month.

Tickets for the event are priced at £4 in advance, or £5 on the night. Part of this entrance fee for the event on November 3 will go towards providing educational events at the park.

The park will also be hosting a Rocky Horror Tribute on Friday, October 26, from 7.30pm, live in the Wicksteed Pavilion.

Admission is £15 per person with a basket meal and disco.
