Listeners will soon be able to tune in to a new community radio station.
Welly Radio will be aired over the internet and will feature a range of music and shows about local issues and topics.
The community station will be run by members who pay an annual subscription fee of £25 to cover insurance costs.
People don’t have to have a background in radio to volunteer.
Presenting, producing and administration roles will be available but people must be over 16 years old to take part.
Mark Jones is one of the founders and his businesses, Most Wanted Homes and the O2 shop, have contributed £5,000 towards buying state-of-the-art radio equipment.
The station will be officially launched at the Wellingborough Christmas lights switch-on on Saturday, November 24.
Mr Jones said: “The whole point of it is to get the community together. We want to make it local, and to fit in lots of local views.”
The station will also cover Rushden and Higham Ferrers and all the villages between the towns and Wellingborough.
