A Wellingborough woman who knits for the premature baby unit at KGH is celebrating her 104th birthday.

Gladys Tarry, a resident at the Tasker House care home in Westfield Road, was born on May 25, 1912.

And at the age of 104, she is still knitting hats for babies who were born prematurely at Kettering General Hospital.

Mrs Tarry has lived in Wellingborough for all of her life and went to Avenue Infants School and Park Road Junior School.

She worked at the Co-Op in Cannon Street for 30 years, where she was a popular figure.
