A Wellingborough woman is going to ‘Brave the Shave’ for a cancer charity.
Loz Alcindor-Gilmour is going to shave off her hair in front of the parishioners of St Edmund Campion Church in the town.
The headshave, which is in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, will take place at about midday on Sunday, August 9, at the Henshaw Road church.
The mum of two, who works at Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School in the town, said: “I have a lot of loved ones, friends and colleagues, who have either had cancer, are currently being treated for it or worst of all have sadly lost their battle with it.
“I’d like to make that little bit of a difference and raise some much-needed and well-deserved money to help those supporting my friends and family through these very difficult times.
“Macmillan Cancer Support is my inspiration to ‘Brave the Shave’ after the 10.45am Mass at St Edmund Campion Church.
“My target was to raise £500, but in less than 21 days I have raised £885 in online donations.
“Donations on sponsor forms will take me over £1,200.”
