Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was shot with an air gun in Wellingborough shortly after a similar incident in Kettering.

The woman was jogging with a friend in Sywell Road as they were heading towards Shelley Road, at about 8.30pm on Monday, September 14.

The victim felt a sharp pain in her leg as two men in a small dark car – possibly a Corsa – passed by.

She then realised she had been hit with an air weapon and had to attend Kettering General Hospital to have the pellet removed.

Police believe this incident may be linked to a similar one in Asda’s car park in Northfield Avenue, Kettering, on the same evening.

Witnesses, or anyone with information, can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
