A mother-of-three from Wellingborough has been told she has got a place in next month’s London Marathon.
Jenny Kenwright is training hard for the challenge and is hoping to raise £2,000 for children’s charity the NSPCC.
She said: “Last February I had reached 12.7 stone and decided enough was enough. I went hell for leather and lost three stone and thought ‘OK, what will be a challenge now’.
“I decided the biggest one for me would be the marathon so I applied to run for the NSPCC as it’s a charity that means a lot to me.
“Growing up wasn’t always easy for me and the NSPCC, who endeavour to protect children who are one of, if not the most vunerable members of our society, is such an important charity.
“I never check my emails, and had never expected to get a place, but for some reason I had checked my emails the day before the charity places closed and found I had got in.
“I’m a single mum of three boys and although this is time consuming I have managed to fit my training around them.”
