Wellingborough’s Ashleigh Butler and Pudsey are set to make their theatrical debut in pantomime Dick Whittington this Christmas.
The Britain’s Got Talent winners will perform in the show at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking, from Friday, December 7, to Sunday, January 6.
Ashleigh will play Dick’s love interest Alice Fitzwarren, with Pudsey at her side.
Stephen Mulhern, presenter of the spin-off show Britain’s Got More Talent, will also appear in the show as Idle Jack.
Ashleigh said: “We are so excited to be performing in our first pantomime. Drama and dance have been a big part of my life for many years and my Grandma has taken us to the pantomime every Christmas for as long as I can remember, being part of this pantomime is a very exciting prospect and I can’t wait to take to the stage with Pudsey.”
The theatre’s general manager Calum Kemp said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming the sensational duo Ashleigh and Pudsey and entertainer and magician Stephen Mulhern to the New Victoria Theatre in a brand new title Dick Wittington.
“Celebrating our 20th Anniversary it seems very fitting to end the year on such a high with this year’s casting and look forward to inviting everyone to join in the fun with us.”
Dick Whittington tells the rags to riches tale of a young man and his cat on an exciting quest for fame and fortune.
It will feature songs, a live band, magic, dance routines, slapstick comedy and lots of audience participation.
