Paul Bowman is taking on the Prudential Ride London Surrey 100 challenge this Sunday (July 31), after being inspired to raise money for the charity by Team Leader Jim Martin who is currently in remission from testicular cancer.

The paramedic, who is based at Mereway Ambulance Station, is hoping to raise £700 for Cancer Research UK as a small thank you on Jim’s behalf to the charity.

Paul said: “Jim and myself were talking, during a rare moment on a night shift, about what he had been through when I mentioned that I was riding the Prudential Ride London Surrey 100.

“Jim then challenged me to raise £700 for Cancer Research UK as a small thank you on his behalf.

“Even during his treatment Jim has been an inspirational leader and a real support to staff in south Northamptonshire, so I was more than happy to do it.”

The Prudential Ride London Surrey 100 is a 100-mile cycle ride that starts at the London Velodrome, goes out to Surrey before returning to central London to finish on the Mall.
