Charities and community groups are being invited to apply for a slice of a community fund set up by a housing developer.

Bovis Homes has opened up applications for the second Stanton Cross Community Award.

The community award makes a quarterly donation of £1,000 to local charities and community groups.

The fund was set up at the beginning of the year by Bovis Homes to provide much needed funding for Wellingborough’s most deserving community projects transforming the area.

The first award of £1,000 was awarded to Castle Fields Community Group in March to help the groups’ volunteers continue the rejuvenation of the much-loved Castle Fields Park in the east of the borough.

As a result, Castle Fields Community Group were able to put the money towards delivering a number of resident events and activities as well as improve the condition of the grounds.

Bovis Homes are currently taking applications for the next award and will announce the winning group in summer 2016. To be eligible applications must be from an established local group whose work supports the Wellingborough community. The organisation or group applying must not already be associated with the Stanton Cross project.

The Stanton Cross award is an initiative by Bovis Homes, developers of Stanton Cross. This major new scheme which now underway, will provide 3,650 homes and 110 acres of employment land, plus schools and community facilities.
