East Midlands Trains say they do not expect a full service to resume until 4.30pm

Train services calling at Kettering and Wellingborough are facing major delays today due to a complete loss of signalling near Market Harborough.

Trains are being diverted with up to 50 minutes being added onto each journey time, with some services cancelled.

Network Rail have found rodent damage on lineside cable equipment which will require a short section to be replaced.

The work will be completed by 11am, but because of trains and crew being out of place the service will not fully resume until 4.30pm.

Customers are having to use alternatives routes:

- Sheffield to/from London Kings Cross via Doncaster

- Derby to/from London Euston via Birmingham New Street

- Nottingham to/from London Kings Cross via Grantham

- Leicester to/from London Euston via Nuneaton

Other train operators will accept East Midlands Trains tickets.

A limited rail replacement bus service is in place from 10am running between Leicester and Kettering, calling at Market Harborough.

Customers travelling between Corby and Kettering can use tickets on the local X1 bus service.

It will leave Kettering from the station front and Corby from George Street, outside McDonalds.

East Midlands Trains have apologised for the disruption.
