Campaigners shrugged off wet weather when they took part in a sponsored walk and run to raise funds for a Corby crisis centre under threat due to funding cuts.

The event on Saturday at the boating lake raised about £1,000 for Safe Haven in Dorking Walk.

A fundraising event is being held at the Grampian Club, Corby, on Friday, March 7, featuring local artists including Hayley Blanchett and poet Spike.

Tickets are £5 on the door or by calling 07912774785.
