Volunteers are needed to take part in a big litter-pick being held at East Carlton.

It takes place on Tuesday, October 8, starting at 2pm, as part of the borough council’s Big Pick-Nic initiation.

The council will be teaming up with the police to deal with the problems of litter and fly-tipping in the village and the surrounding area.

Volunteers are invited along to take part and hot soup and rolls will be served up afterwards.

Leader of Corby Council, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: “We had a great response to the previous Big Pick-Nic events and have welcomed many volunteers who have kindly given up their time to help make sure the community is clean and tidy for all to enjoy.

“We are now turning our attention to East Carlton and hope that we will see lots of people join in with the initiative.”

Volunteers should meet at the log cabin in East Carlton Country Park.
